1985
- 1972: The GK team carried out the project of controlling the MK-42 of the smart magnetic bomb
- Jan 23,1985: Established School of Engineering Physics
- 1996: Department of Solid State Physics changed its name to Department of Physics and Electronic Materials Technology
- Jun 1998: Established the Department of Informatics Physics
1990
- 1999: SEP received the Second Class Labor Medal
- 2000: Department of Physics and Electronic Materials Technology received the Third Class Labor Medal.
- 2002: The ceremony to attach the 30-year commemoration of GK1 Project at A-Building - Hanoi University of Science and Technology
2000
- 2004: Department of Physics and Electronic Materials Technology changed its name to Department of Electronic Materials.
- 2005: SEP received the First Class Labor Medal
- 2010: Established the Department of Optics and Optoelectronics on the basis of merging two laboratories: Laboratory of Physical Analysis and Measurement; Laboratory of Magnetic and Nanocrystalline Materials.
2010
- Oct 2018: Merged School of Nuclear Engineering and Environmental Physics into School of Engineering Physics.
- Nov 2018: Department of Nuclear Engineering and Environmental Physics is a part of School of Engineering Physics.
