Introduction
In the history of science, mathematics is a powerful quantitative tool for humans to understand the rules of nature, and a common scientific language for our communication. The development of our knowledge of physics is strongly correlated with the development of mathematics. The physical laws working at scales different from what we are familiar with in our daily life are not intuitive, as we know from the famous examples like quantum mechanics and Einstein’s theory of relativity. Therefore, the necessary mathematical concepts used in these theories are also different.
With the interest in theoretical physics, my research aims to address questions at the areas of the smallest and the largest scales:
- Laws of physics at high energies:
- What are the most fundamental building blocks of the universe and their interactions?
- Is there a unified theoretical framework to describe all the aspects of nature at diverse scales?
- What are the hidden mechanisms behind various experimental anomalies?
- What are the phenomenological implications of new physics beyond the standard model?
- How can we test new theoretical hypothesis using feasible experiments?
- Laws of physics at the cosmic scale:
- What are the origins of dark matter, dark energy, and their properties?
- What are cosmological consequences of new physics beyond our current knowledge of elementary particles?
- How has the universe evolved from the beginning of time to the current state?
